Hike #19: Grotte de Marie-Madeleine Leaders: Thierry, Jean-Pierre Date: March 24, 2026 |

Au départ d’un parking tranquille nous monterons en sous-bois jusqu’à la grotte de Marie-Madeleine. Puis nous reprendrons la montée pour atteindre la crête de la Ste Baume. Tout au long de la crête nous admirerons à 360 degrés toutes les collines et hauts massifs de la région ; Ste Victoire, mont Aurélien, massif de l’Etoile jusqu’à la mer. Après le piquenique et les émotions, la descente par « le sentier merveilleux » se fera douce et longue. Néanmoins il est recommandé d’avoir de bonnes chaussures et une bonne forme physique.
Starting from a quiet car park, we will climb through the woods to the cave of Mary Magdalene. Then we will continue the climb to reach the ridge of Sainte-Baume. Along the ridge, we will enjoy a 360-degree view of all the hills and high mountains in the region, including Sainte-Victoire, Mont Aurélien, and the Massif de l'Etoile, stretching all the way to the sea. After the picnic lunch, the descent is gentle and long via the ‘marvellous path’. Nevertheless, it is recommended that you wear good shoes and be in good physical shape.
