Hike #15: Secteur Arbois

Cette rando facile et proche d'Aix nous fera découvrir le secteur de l'Arbois, après les Milles. 

Nous commencerons à travers la forêt, nous passerons près d'une petite cascade, puis nous longerons un grand enclos avec des chevaux. Après une courte montée, nous suivrons le chemin à flanc de colline d'où nous aurons une belle vue sur la vallée du Château de la Tour d'Arbois. Dans la deuxième partie de la rando, nous longerons le canal de Marseille, puis monterons sur le plateau de l'Arbois d'où nous aurons une belle vue sur le massif de l'Etoile, la Sainte-Victoire, Eguilles. Nous ferons une halte au "Rocher de la Tour de l'Arbois", une construction particulière construite en bois, qui sert d'observatoire. Nous descendrons ensuite au fond d'un petit vallon que nous suivrons par un petit sentier étroit. Pour finir, nous passerons sous la voie de TGV avant de rejoindre le parking.

 

This easy hike near Aix will take us through the Arbois area, after Les Milles.
We will start through the forest, pass by a small waterfall and walk alongside a large paddock with horses. After a short climb, we will follow the path up the hillside, from where we'll have a nice view over the valley of the Château de la Tour d'Arbois. In the second part of the walk, we will follow the canal of Marseille, then climb up to the Arbois plateau, where we will have a nice view of the Etoile massif, Sainte-Victoire and Eguilles. We'll stop at the "Rocher de la Tour de l'Arbois", a unique wooden structure used as an observatory. Then we will walk down to the bottom of a small valley, which we will follow along a narrow path. Finally, we will pass under the TGV train tracks before reaching the car park.
