Nous vous proposons une belle balade qui nous permettra de découvrir les vestiges d’un temple romain (le temple de Diane datant de la fin du 1er siècle avant notre ère), une chapelle du XII siècle (St. Symphorien) et le ruines du vieux village de Vernègues, détruit pendant le tremblement de terre de 1909. Du plateau du Grand Puech, nous aurons de magnifiques vues panoramiques sur toutes les Bouches du Rhône. Une balade agréable dans la garrigue et sous les chênes centenaires.
During this beautiful walk, we will discover the remains of a Roman temple (Diane, from the 1st century BC), a 12th century chapel (St. Symphorien) and the ruins of the village of Vernègues, destroyed during an earthquake in 1909. On the plateau of the Grand Puech, we will enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Bouches du Rhône region. A pleasant walk through the ‘garrigue’ and under ancient oak trees.

Directions: From Aix, take D7 through Celony, St Cannat and Lambesc. At Cazan, ignore the first exit on the rounabout towards Vernègues and go into the village of Cazan on the D7. At the next roundabout, turn left on D22B towards Vernègues. Continue out of the village following signs to Vernègues. You’ll arrive shortly at the hamlet of St. Symphorien where you will see a sign on your right to Chapelle St. Symphorien. Turn here and park next to the chapel.
