Hike #10: Chaine de l’Etoile Leaders: Chris, Isa, Jean-Pierre Date: December 05th, 2023 |

This hike starts from the northwest side of the ‘Chaine de l’Etoile’. After a steady ascent along wide forest tracks, we arrive at the summit of ‘la Petite Etoile’ to enjoy the breathtaking 360o views from Aix to Marseille including the Etang de Berre and the harbour and coast of Marseille. The route alternates between wooded valleys and wide areas with open views.
Cette randonnée démarre du nord ouest de la Chaîne de l’Etoile. Après une ascension régulière sur de larges pistes forestières, nous arrivons au sommet de la Petite Étoile pour profiter d'une vue imprenable à 360° d'Aix à Marseille en passant par l'étang de Berre, la rade et la côte de Marseille. Le parcours alterne entre vallons boisés et vastes espaces aux vues dégagées.

Meeting point: Directly at the start of the hike at 10 am
Directions: Park in the open dirt area on left of road under the trees.
On arriving in Septèmes (on D8N) look out for small turning on left – route de la television. The GPS will take you to the above parking area
